The Brief

Create a series of boutique style experiences at Stirling Castle to complement major refurbishment of renaissance era Palace.

The Approach

Three different styles of store designed to create variation and increased spend on site. Each store has slightly different emphasis from clan and craft to more refined jewellery and cashmere ranges. Finishes are aligned to Historic Scotland brand guidelines and increased floor and wall space was integrated within complex building structures. Strong graphical features relate to Historic Scotland publications. Improved ticketing and till point layout.

The Result

A retail design blueprint for roll out across all major Historic Scotland properties. Three different,  high performance shops at Stirling integrated with the overall improved visitor experience is departure from traditional single gift shop approach.
