York store

The Brief

Reposition the existing Viewpoint optical business in a new, high end store in larger, busier city centre location. Create an open and inviting shopfront, stylish interior and visually striking display. Create a high quality and natural finishes palette.

The Approach

Working closely with the York city planners, we created a sleek and stylish full height glass shopfront. The external paving leading to the warm natural stone flooring creates a seamless transition from street to store. Clear sightlines from front to back allow great views of the store layout. A stunning backlit marble display wall holds volume and range of product whilst a full length adjustable mirror at eye height encourages try and buy. The dispensing areas on the right hand side of the store offer a discreet testing area by introducing switchable glass which goes opaque when being used by customers.

A deep, natural, calm colour palette slows the browsing pace down and allows good customer interaction. The comfortable waiting area has clear views of the product range and naturally breaks the store between front retail display and the rear private consultancy rooms.

The Result

The established Viewpoint brand has seen a surge in sales and footfall in the new store. The client is delighted with a design that would sit comfortably on Bond Street.
